In this day and age, it seems like everyone is walking on egg shells. You don’t know if speaking the truth, your truth, will ultimately backfire, create losses and eventual bruised self esteem. We can live like this, but it would be taxing and in a way, lose a part of makes you…well YOU. I think when we can be our true selves with thoughtful consideration on how we present ourselves, we can make real connections and impacts. There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration.
For instance, you don’t want to speak your mind unfiltered without knowing your audience. Know your settings as well because not every thought is appropriate for where you might currently be. Another way to express yourself is to also be considerate of who is receiving your honest thoughts and opinions. Can they truly benefit from it or will it be a waste of time?
In order to be able to do this effectively, you will need to understand yourself and be able to consider who deserves your honest thoughts and opinions. You don’t want to extend this version of yourself to just anyone. Most people do not receive this type of feedback too well and it mostly has nothing to do with you. Always keep in mind that you don’t know what people are going through and how they truly process information. You might feel like it was a waste of time, but it is out there for them to interpret as they want to.
Do you want the brutally honest truth? Not everyone will like you and not everyone will like what you say. If you mean what you say, stand by it but do so for the right reasons. It isn’t to be stubborn or prove something wrong, but something you can live with for the rest of your days with minimal regrets, if any.

Animal expressions are great at giving your honest feedback, even when you a bit insulted by it. Judgmental vs happiness.
